I could tell you about holidays, day trips, drunken adventures in tacky nightclubs, sambuca-fuelled line dancing in the rose, birthdays, cracking The Times, Brighton, Liverpool, Eliott's lack of a school place (disaster!), meals out, meals in, Kate Moss' new Top Shop collection (and my addiction to it), new hair, new coats, studio sessions, football parties, freshly decorated kitchens, false alarms, drunken husbands, drunker wives, family visits, family fall outs and my continuing struggle to find time to write my book...

Thanks, Pete - far as I know it's a mix of ratings, comments and then judged by a panel of muso industry people. The final 14 play live at gigs in London and Liverpool and the winner is picked by a panel attending those events. So basically, any comments ratings that get them noticed are more than welcome!

El's not the only child with no school place - Tommy doesn't have one either. We're completely gutted! Good luck with finding somewhere.

Wimbledon. It seems like all the 'leftover' choices are miles way too, so we're not overly happy at the moment.

Sugar. I bet you're not. Can you find out where you are on the waiting list for any of the schools you applied for? We rang Wandsworth and they told us our waiting list place for every school we'd applied to. We're number 3 on our first choice and miles down the list for the other three, so probably worth us hanging on in there...

If only Merton were that good - they refused to say, on the basis that it would more than likely change from one minute to the next. I guess we just hang on and try to find another place in the meantime.

Hey Jojo, I was reading the Observer Women's magazine last week and they had that thing on exes and I remembered that you'd written one before and I looked up and there was your name in lights. I felt a warm glow. I basked in your reflected glory. Good stuff. Trust all well with you and your young men.
